In the same way that Marvel Comics had their “What if” series of comic books proposing alternate versions of your favorite Marvel characters. I have been working on a couple of paintings envisioning Leia Skywalker as the hero of the original “Star Wars” mythologies replacing her twin, Luke Skywalker in the role of rebel saviour.

This portrait was created using Adobe Illustrator, Corel Painter, and Adobe Photoshop.

Loved seeing these films as a kid and recently rewatched them all with my own children. There are lots of fine details that hold up after all these years and it was a nice walk down memory lane with my kids.

I have a habit of revisiting this film franchise, its stars, and creatures as a source of inspiration but also comfort as a known quantity or entity

Alternative movie poster for "Alien"

The film is a touchstone of my childhood and Sigourney Weaver was one of the first starlets of my youth whose work I have enjoyed as I have grown older…with Alien a particular favorite.
