Agent Carter

Agent Carter

Portrait of Agent Peggy Carter

Portrait of Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Agent Carter is such a great character in the MCU and match for Captain America. She is a tough, smart, and dedicated agent who helped teach Cap the importance of the role he was embarking upon.

This portrait was created in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.

Wonder Woman 1984

Wonder Woman 1984

Illustration of Gal Gadot as she reprises her role of Wonder Woman

Full-figure portrait of Gal Gadot in her golden armor as she reprises her role of Diana, in Wonder Woman 1984. The first film was a success for DC Comics who have had trouble competing with the Marvel Cinematic Universe releases. Despite the star power of many recent films Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman was the breakout for DC and Gal Gadot.

I have also created a fan-art poster version for the upcoming film that you can find on my PosterSpy account

This piece was created using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.

Polaroid Transfers

Polaroid Transfers

Space Mountain emulsion lift

Shot inside Space Mountain, in Tomorrowland at Disney’s Magic Kingdom theme park, created using the emulsion lift technique from a Polaroid photo shot on pack-film.

The image was created by removing the emulsion from the original film substrate using a combination of hot and cold water. Once freed from its original “holder” the image can be re-applied to a new substrate.

Four Park icon poster

This poster is another emulsion lift. Although the original was created digitally as a dröste-style image, it was output to Polaroid 600-type pack film. Once in a film format, it was processed like the Space Mountain photograph above using the emulsion lift technique.

Norma Jean

Norma Jean

Sketch of Norma Jean Baker, more commonly known as Marilyn Monroe

Like most people, I was introduced to Marilyn Monroe in their teen years and more often than not paired with James Dean. Two iconic Hollywood stars and tragic tales for angsty teens to latch upon as they strive to discover themselves. I have always been a fan of Marilyn’s work as an actress who strove to break out of the mold that made her famous and become respected for an actress who could hold her own on the screen.

This sketch was created in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.

When I first heard that they were going to expand the concept of a Star Wars land at The Walt Disney World Resort, I knew I wanted to shoot real film of the environments. And not just film, but chrome imagery so that I could use a stash of valuable Fuji FP100c film and make “Polaroid” transfers, or image transfers at this point.

There is special quality to the grain of film that evokes the era in which these films were shot and I wanted to pay homage to a galaxy far away. Then the pandemic hit and I had only been able to take one trip with my vintage mission – but these are some of the images I captured that day.

I am hopeful to get back to the park but until then, the 4 rolls of Kodak film I shot will provide the source for some new image transfers.
