First alternative movie poster project for me in 2023 and I chose to create another new portrait of Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker; this was revisiting an old theme that I had tackled a few years back, in 2018.
Over these past few years, I have been working on the techniques I learned as a painter and have been converting them to digital workflow using Corel Painter, Procreate, and some of Adobe’s tools.
In the image above, you can see some of the details to the sketch of Mark Hamill, as Luke Skywalker; after he lands on Dagobah in Episode V, “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back“.
As many projects, the portraiture is merely a step along the way to a larger piece. This is the alternative movie poster for Episode V, although the second movie in the franchise; Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
These works were created using Corel Painter, ProCreate, adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop and a host of custom brushes developed over the last year or two, during the pandemic.
