Portrait of the great Rutger Hauer in his role as the replicant Roy Batty in Ridley Scott’s epic film “Blade Runner“.
The late 70’s and early 80’s were a great time to be a kid. We had these great film makers like Lucas, Spielberg, and Scott who gave us these stories on worlds far and near populated by characters with depth, like Roy Batty. Blade Runner was another seminal point in film in that era and has influenced countless storytellers across mediums since it hit the screen in 1982. Rutger Hauer’s role was an example of perfect casting with a protaganist that had more depth than its original computer programming.
With a nod to the original one-sheets, I have also created an alternative movie poster focused on Roy’s character in “Blade Runner“. These illustrations were created using Corel Painter, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop.
