Portrait of a Scout Trooper on the forest moon of Endor from the second film in the original Star Wars Trilogy; The Empire Strikes Back.

These chase scenes were some of the coolest I remember from my childhood. And the way that they filmed the hyper-speed chase by walking through the forest filming at 3/4 speed. When they processed the footage and played it back at 30 frames per second it looked like the Scout Troopers on the speeder bikes were going 120 miles per hour.

I have also created an alternative comic book cover using a crop of the image for my PosterSpy profile and social sharing.

Composite portrait of Mike Mignola’s creation – Hellboy. The harbinger of the apocalypse and defender of the forces of darkness. The image above is the base dark intaglio layer and one part of the workflow I use in my illustrations.

Mike Mignola created a wonderful character and universe with this character, Hellboy. The fun he has with the visuals and narrative combine to create something truly unique to the world of storytelling.

As his work lept from page to screen, the great Ron Perlman was a great embodiment of the character. Although David Harbour’s portrayal was fun, but I am still partial to Ron’s work in the first films.

Portrait of Sir Alec Guinness as Obi-Wan Kenobi

Throwback to the original, Old Ben Kenobi, with this portrait of Sir Alec Guinness in his iconic role from George Lucas’ first film in the universe of “Star Wars”.

Detail of portrait of Sir Alec Guinness as Obi-Wan Kenobi

Despite the disparaging comments Guinness made in reference to the film, it opened him up to a fandom of Old Ben Kenobi that has lasted over 40 years. His portrayal of the old Jedi master leading his new protégé Luke Skywalker through the use of the force has been the basis of over 40 years of stories in the Star Wars universe.

Now, if you ask most people today, those who grew up in the 1970’s, who is Wonder Woman virtually every single one would answer Lynda Carter. She was one of the strong female leads of a primetime show and the epitome of the 70’s era. Sure it was camp, but almost every show of that era was pure camp.

Portrait of Ewan McGregor as Obi Wan Kenobi

Working to try to get out of a funk, so I revisited one of my favorite topics – Star Wars. Here is a composite portrait of Ewan McGregor as I envision him in the upcoming “Obi-Wan Kenobi” coming to Disney+ in May 2022.

We know a bit about the show, but with the recent surprises in “The Mandalorian” and “The Book of Boba Fett” I am really excited to see what they have in store for the viewer with this new series on Disney+.

Portrait of Arnold Shcwarzenegger

Portrait of Arnold Schwarzenegger the world bodybuilding champion turned actor, turned governor, and now back to actor.

Detail of portrait of Arnold Shcwarzenegger

I remember seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger as a kid in the film, “Pumping Iron“, and blown away that this was an actual human being. He was one of the first modern athletes who successfully moved from sports and made a name in Hollywood.

The first series of films were laughably bad as a new actor, but he eventually found his comfort zone and became a box-office action hero across multiple franchises; with The Terminator being one of his most recognizable across generations.

I also created an alternative movie poster as a one-sheet for the PosterSpy community. These illustrations were created using Adobe Illustrator, Corel Painter, and Adobe Photoshop.
